As part of some recent enhancements to the ALA’s Web site, members can now register online for events and also pay, either via credit card online, an existing PayPal account, or by choosing the “pay by check” option at the end of online registration process. To get more information about a particular event, click on that event's heading or the "Show details" link in the bottom right of the box for the event. If you know you want to register for an event and do not need to get more information, simply click on the "Register" button for that event, and on the subsequent page click on "Start registration in a new window" button.
Members should follow these instructions to register for an event:
On the "Enter registrant e-mail" screen, members should type in the email address that is on file with the ALA. (If you are uncertain which email address the ALA has on file for you, email Christine Teed.)
If you input the email address the ALA has on file, "Member email match" will show up in a colored box and you will be instructed to log in so your contact details will be filled out automatically.
Choose the member registration type, and then select your payment method, either online, which allows you to pay with your credit card or an existing PayPal account, or manual, which allows you to complete your registation online and then mail in a check for payment.
Make sure to press the "confirm" button on the "review and confirm your registration" screen to complete your transaction.
Non-members also are allowed to register for events, and will be required to pay the non-member rate for all events. To get the cheaper member rate, considering joining the ALA.
